Introduction to Wellness Living!

The term “wellness” is one that is used more commonly now than in the past. Many people are seeking a life of wellness as opposed to just focusing on fitness. But what exactly does it mean to “live well” or to adapt to the “wellness lifestyle”? Wellness isn’t a ‘fad’ or something that only people who practice yoga and who are vegan engage in. It is a way of life that encompasses ALL areas of living; ensuring that your entire being as a whole is healthy, happy and progressing! To live ‘well’ is to live a life that is focused on the continual protection and growth of what is good in our lives, acknowledgement of what can be improved in our lives and awareness of what we need to remove from our lives. Achieving wellness is a journey of enlightenment that discloses the affect that internal and external factors have on our lives. It leads us to a deeper understanding of how various factors influence our well-being; and how we can do what is necessary to nurture the mind, body, soul and spirit!

What is Wellness?

WellnessThe state of encompassing good health in all aspects of one’s life.

 We can experience peace, minor setbacks or complete chaos at the same time in different areas of our lives. Sometimes we can have chaos in one area and it gradually spreads into other areas until our well being is intoxicated, and a chain reaction of setbacks or chaos occurs! For instance, a heavy workload and not enough resources is causing problems at work. You arrive home still holding on to the burden of work, and now it is disrupting life at home. As this stress grows you develop poor eating habits that will start to negatively affect your physical health which in turn can also affect your mental health. The stress you dwell in is now leading to changes in thought patterns and behaviors; you’re making poor decisions and not acting or feeling like your usual self. You’re feeling more emotional and less focused. The external factors of life – our activities - have now affected the internal factors – our thoughts and emotions – and now our well being is thrown off balance!

Living well is about ensuring our thoughts manifest into the right actions, to develop the right habits that will influence the right character of who we truly are or aspire to become!

Everything that manifests into our reality begins with a single thought! Therefore, our thoughts influence how we shape the rest of our lives! Ensuring the health of our thoughts will ensure the health of all areas of our lives! This is where Wellness Living begins!!!
